The type of therapy that I offer is psychodynamic psychotherapy, which consists of carrying out a therapeutic process based on understanding our mind, emotions, thoughts and dreams. Sometimes the painful experiences we had during our childhood can influence the way we behave and interact with others nowadays.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy seeks to solve our problems or conflicts by identifying their roots. The psychotherapist helps us to discover the unknown or subconscious causes, in order for us to better understand why we have the problems and how we can address them. This type of therapy is based on psychoanalysis, but it is more recent and updated with knowledge that has emerged in recent years.
Self-esteem refers to the perception and assessment we have of ourselves, there for it is essential for general well-being. In order to count with a healthy self-esteem is important knowing how to recognize our abilities and qualities, as well as our defects and limitations, being able to identify our areas for improvement, without being excessively critical. Self-compassion is also important, being kind to ourselves, knowing how to forgive our mistakes, setting limits when is necessary, and setting achievable goals.
Good self-esteem facilitates self-care, since the person values themselves, just as self-care reinforces self-esteem, since it shows you that you deserve care and attention.
